Our Trip to Lubbock, Texas!

The weekend before Christmas we made a quick trip to Lubbock, Texas for my cousin's wedding (Kasie McAuley Baker). Lubbock is a place that holds a lot of memories for me and my family. My parents grew up in a small town on the outskirts of Lubbock called New Deal, Texas. They met in high school where my father played football while my mother was in the drill team and married shortly after graduating. My father attended Texas Tech as did my two older brothers, Jason and Ryan, and my sister in law, Kimberly. My parents started their life together in Lubbock and so did my brother and his wife. Another memory that I will always cherish is spending summer vacations in Lubbock to visit my MawMaw and PawPaw, my mother's parents, and my PoePoe, my father's mother.

Mom and Dad, I know I gripe about going back to Lubbock, Texas, but deep down I enjoy the often visits now because of all the memories that we created there as a family.

While we were in town for Kasie's wedding we visited some places that brought back some great memories. One in particular was taking my baby boy to feed the geese like my grandfather always took me to do when I would come visit. Only now I was not so afraid of them, because when I went as a child they would chase me and bite me...maybe it was because I was not throwing my bread fast enough, but I really enjoyed it for some odd reason. We always seem to drive by my parents first apartment, which is still standing. I guess visiting it now as I get older and as a mother myself it makes you realize and cherish the little things a that much more.

But the real reason why I was posting this was to share some photos of that weekend, enough of going down memory lane, sorry.

One morning, the boys wanted donuts, well needless to say they ended up at Krispy Kreme. This was Taylor's and my first experience to a Krispy Kreme donut place. After seeing the making of the donuts, I opted for a bottle of water, you would not believe the sugar that goes into making these donuts, it is absolutely unbelievable, but the boys seemed to love the. Of course they were bouncing of the walls for awhile afterwards, but it did provide a good nap at least. Here are a couple of photos of the boys donut experience!

After Breakfast we decided to take the boys to one of Lubbock's many ponds to enjoy feeding the geese, something we did with my grandfather every time we visited.

PawPaw helping the boys throw the bread!

Look at all of the geese and they keep coming, they were so close they were eating the bread out of our hands basically!

The boys were trying to get rid of their bread as quickly as they could.

Me and my Daddy swinging and chatting together, I love these times!

After chatting we decided to have a swing off. I would like to think that I won, but I will take a tie. It was a little unfair because I was having to swing one handed because I was holding my camera in my lap. Next time, dad, your going down!

Me with my two older brothers, I love them so much! They are the best older brothers a girl could ever have. You both mean so much to me!

Jason, Tiffany, and Ryan all grown up!
