Rough Creek for the Weekend!

A couple of weekends ago, we made a quick trip out to Rough Creek to celebrate Kameron's 18th Birthday!

When we pulled up, they had a few puppies for sale, which all of us fell in love with during our stay. Wesley, Kam's girlfriend, and Kameron giving one of the puppies some love!

When we entered our rooms these photos of Kameron where placed on the entry console. The photos are of Kameron around 5 or 6 years of age when Rough Creek first opened. Uncle Alan, which is Roni's, Mark's sister, husband helped develop Rough Creek Lodge. The boys, Kameron and Jordan, at the time would go out to Rough Creek and these photos were taken on one of the trips. The funny thing is that these photos are still in some of their marketing material. Taylor loved looking at the photos, but he thought it was Hayden in the photos instead of Kameron!
Brothers...Hayden (11), Taylor (3), & Kameron (18)

Hayden loved the zip line.

So did Wesley!

Taylor on the dock, being silly before fishing!

He wanted to catch a big fish!

Taylor following his big brother around learning the tricks of fishing!

Kameron and Wesley waiting for one to bite. Notice that Kameron is using Taylor's fishing pole.

And he actually caught a little one on Taylor's pole!

Taylor showing us how it's done!

He kept saying that he was going to reel in a big one.

He would cast and leave the hook out there for a few seconds and reel it in...impatient, just like his Daddy!

Enjoying some fishing while at Rough Creek.
Mark using Taylor's fishing pole acting like he caught a big fish...

Hayden decided to hang out on the swing for a little bit and enjoy the peace and quiet that Rough Creek offers.

And Mark actually caught a fish...a very tiny fish on Taylor's pole. He was trying to make it look bigger by holding it closer to the camera, but really it was so small so they used it for bait!

So then Taylor was back to fishing trying to catch his own fish!

Too bad this one was not biting. Mark kept dragging his hook with live bait right in front of his mouth and the fish would not bite.

Taylor hanging out with Wesley while the boys tried to catch something!

Kameron waiting patiently...

Eventually we gave up on fishing and head to the petting zoo.

Hayden petting the animals.

Taylor wanted to drive the mule so bad.

Posing on the mule.

Acting like he was driving.

Wesley and Kameron about to set out on a 4 wheel adventure.

Already to go...

We took the mule out and headed of the back trails! Well as you can see from the photo above we did not get far because Mark got the mule stuck!

Wesley on her 4 wheeler!

We had a great time as always at Rough Creek! Happy 18th Birthday Kameron!

Cooking with Mommy!

Mark and Taylor wanted Chicken Noodle Soup one evening while they were sick. So using the family recipe that I learned from Sandi, Mark's mom, I made homemade Chicken Noodle Soup, with homemade noodles. Taylor was watching as I was mixing the the eggs into the floor and wanted to join in. So after I finished making the dough, cutting the noodles, and putting them into the pot to cook, I decided to let Taylor join in! Really just play around with the ingredients that is used to make the noodles.

Sifting through the flour...

Of course posing for the camera while cooking...sweet boy!

Cutting the eggs into the flour by hand that is the only way to do it...

See Mommy...

Then he wanted to kneed the dough...

We made a huge flour mess, even more of a mess than what I make when I am making the actual noodles myself!

Look at this dough ball!

Having fun making a mess in the kitchen...starting cooking class early, hopefully he will get his cooking skills from his Daddy!

Concentrating on making the perfect dough ball.

When he were done making his "pretend" noodles, we had flour all over the counters, floors, and all over us! He was a little upset when I told him that we could not put his noodles in the soup, but we had so much fun making them!

Do you want to race!?!?!?

During the two weeks that Taylor was sick, we missed out on some beautiful weather! Taylor did not feel well enough to be outside so we played inside! One of his favorite activities while being locked up inside was racing the remote control cars. Gigi, Sharlyn, just recently bought Taylor a new race car so we put it to the test against the Porsche! We raced every single day for hours while Taylor was sick...I was hoping and praying that the batteries would run out, but it would not have done any good considering Taylor knows exactly where the batteries are located and how to put them in. And surprisingly we only had to change the batteries once!

The Mustang (driven by Taylor) vs. The Porsche (driven by Mommy)

On your Mark, Get Set.....Go!

Taylor posing with the cars!

Sweet boy could barely breathe and was coughing like crazy, but he was always so excited about racing the cars. Every morning he would wake up and ask..."Do you want to race?".

Taking a break, he was so exhausted, but did not want to give up racing!

Taylor loved running his car into mine to knock it off course, so the Porsche now needs a new paint job!
